Rathbones: Financial Adviser Roadshows 2017

We will be hosting a series of regional seminars throughout May and June. Register now at an event nearest to you.

With an overarching theme of delivering added value we will explore topics which will cover our 2017 investment market views through to IFA client segmentation models and client portfolio management.

Here is a brief outline of the topics we'll be discussing:

Taking control: the return of active investing

Political shocks... disruptive technologies... the end of cheap money... a rising tide may lift all ships, but as the tide goes out will fortune favour the active? In this session, we argue that 'benchmark + 1%' and quarterly performance reviews are incompatible with truly active investing this requires longer time horizons, higher investment conviction and, crucially, more openness with clients. For managers with the appropriate resources and the discipline not to follow the herd, the next decade could be a new golden era for active investing.

The journey from A to C

Most IFA businesses have at their heart a client segmentation model which ensures a clear articulation of their services, costs and ultimately the value a client will receive.  For many IFAs 2016 highlighted the need to review a number of their client segmentation choices as existing solutions had their shortcomings and poor value exposed.  In this session we will focus on our newly launched Managed Portfolio Service, explain its position within an IFA client segmentation model, the suite of Rathbone services and how through its use we are evolving the options in this client space and adding value to the IFA model.

Why 1 + 1 = 3

There are a multitude of ways a good Discretionary Fund Manager can add value to your IFA proposition and therefore your clients' experiences.  In this session we will highlight a number of services that all ensure the investment solution dovetails into your personalised advice.  Driving efficiencies not only through risk adjusted returns but also key areas around taxation.
