Happy 10th Birthday Panacea Adviser

In February 2017 Panacea Adviser celebrates it’s 10th birthday and what a ride it has been, from humble beginnings to over 25,000 individuals today that influences control over half of all assets under management in the UK advisory space!

In commemoration of this milestone, Panacea recently charted industry change by running a poll on the site asking how client needs and demands have shifted over the last decade in response to key industry developments, including the new pension rules as well as wider changes such as technological advancement.

Over nine out of ten advisers (92%) said the pension freedoms had resulted in the most significant shift in client behavior.  The pension changes appear to have dwarfed all other issues over the past decade, with the next most popular response coming from just under 5% of advisers who believe ‘self-medication’ – where clients form their own opinions via the internet - represents the biggest change amongst clients, despite the rapid pace of change in technology in recent times.

In fact, recent figures have highlighted the immediate impact of the new pension rules, such as the £9.2bn revealed by HMRC to have been accessed by savers since the reforms were first announced. And while the strong reaction from the Panacea Adviser community reflects this trend, what’s particularly interesting about our result is that it indicates a real change in the mindset of clients too, which means that figures like these may not just a flash in the pan.

And what about Panacea Adviser? How has this evolved over the last decade?
